Aqeel Parvez is a writer, performer and producer from Bradford.
He has an MA in Poetry from Manchester Writing School at MMU and has released nine chapbooks.
His work moves between poetry, prose, performance, rap, collage, web art, event-making and small press publishing.

Aqeel’s writing is interested in loneliness, masculinity, class, desire, depression, internet rot, humour, tenderness, vulgarity, spirituality, absurdity and the strange theatre of ordinary life.
His current projects include Exploitation of Loneliness, a manuscript of poems, and a developing body of boxing poems exploring discipline, violence, training, failure, masculinity and the body under pressure.

Aqeel has performed spoken word across open mics, showcases, festivals and multi-arts events.
His performance work draws on poetry, rap, humour, confession, rhythm, theatricality and the unstable line between sincerity and persona.

Aqeel is the founder of Malnourished Intellect, a Bradford-based arts platform for poetry, performance, workshops, publications, multi-arts events and strange literary experiments.
He is also co-founder of Poets Talking Bollocks, a long-running poetry night and podcast which has platformed emerging writers, performers, musicians and artists across West Yorkshire.
Aqeel was also a committee member of Bone Down Literary Affinity Group, where he helped organise events, run a monthly open mic, produce a festival, release and edit a zine, deliver workshops, host book launches and create radio programmes.
He was co-founder of Spit It Out, a poetry event featuring showcase poets and acoustic musicians.
His producing work includes open mics, showcases, festivals, workshops, community arts projects, interdisciplinary events and publications.
